Oscar C. Parra has been practicing law in Southern California since 1973. Since his graduation in 1973 from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), Mr. Parra has devoted himself to solving problems of businesses, individuals, and organizations. Over the past 10 years Oscar C. Parra has developed considerable expertise in bankruptcy matters. Under his guidance and leadership, the firm has successfully confirmed Plans of reorganization for corporations and individuals, including partnerships, in Chapter 11 cases. During the past ten years, Mr. Parra has represented hundreds of individuals in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 proceedings. The firm has also represented numerous creditors, including landlords, in matters before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. Numerous adversary proceedings have been filed by the firm on behalf of creditors seeking to deny debtors a discharge of their debt due to fraud, misrepresentation, or fraudulent conveyances.

Oscar C. Parra represents corporations, partnerships, and sole proprietorships in audits before the Internal Revenue Service, the California State Board of Equalization, and the California Franchise Tax Board. Mr. Parra has been admitted to the United States Tax Court and has successfully handled matters before the Tax Court.

Oscar C. Parra has also successfully defended real estate agents/brokers, pharmacists, and liquor licensees in Administrative Law proceedings. These administrative law hearings usually involve the suspension or revocation of a business or individual's license.

Oscar C. Parra and his associates are currently handling several lawsuits filed by shareholders of closely held corporations against officers and/or directors for breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, conversion, misrepresentation, waste, and ultra vires acts.

Oscar C. Parra has successfully collected numerous unpaid debts for his clients. Mr. Parra's willingness to litigate on behalf of his clients has resulted in a high percentage of collections.

Oscar C. Parra has handled complex probate estates and related probate matters for the past 22 years. Mr. Parra has filed numerous will contests, petitions for removal of administrators, and objections to accountings. Mr. Parra's expertise in probate matters has led to his representation of guardians, individual conservators, conservatees, minor children, and corporate conservators. The Los Angeles Superior Court, Probate Department has appointed Mr. Parra on numerous occasions to represent minor children and conservatees in matters relating to a childs' or conservatee's estate.

Oscar C. Parra provides numerous nonprofit organizations with legal advice relating to their tax exempt status, corporate filings, and bylaws. He has successfully obtained both federal and state tax exempt status for his nonprofit organization clients.

Oscar C. Parra is an avid college football fan and has attended college football games throughout the country. Since his graduation from the University of Southern California, Mr. Parra has maintained a close relationship with his alma mater. Mr. Parra has traveled with the Trojan football team to Stanford and Baylor during his tenure on the USC Alumni Association Board. Oscar C. Parra has served as Homecoming Chairman at USC. He is a past president of the USC Mexican American Alumni Association.
